Where any country is right now in terms of governance is all because of philosophers’ thoughts on social organization, their thoughts are a very powerful tool. Through their thought experiments on social organization, theories have been built and man has in one way or another tested these theories wholly or partially to improve the society they live in as a social animal. Interestingly, for me and you today, it is easy to still access these philosophers’ thoughts on the social organization as they are in the archives of political philosophy.

What is political philosophy??

Political philosophy is mainly focused on answering the question “who should rule”. Is it the people or is it an individual? This question is considered to be one of the most difficult questions raised in philosophy along with the question of how should society be organised. The answers to these questions can be traced back to the ancient ages where philosophers at that time were searching for what makes an ideal society. And their findings provide the base on which modern philosophers build on or break to form new independent dogmas (beliefs). The following are some various philosophers’ who answered the questions 'who should rule and how should society be organized'.
